How To Make Coconut Oil At Home

When you want to prepare your coconut oil you start by opening your coconut with the blunt object. Once you are able to crack open the coconuts you can take the water out in a separate cup. It is important to note that the water from the coconut is quite nutritious also, therefore drinking it is not a bad idea.

Then you peel the coconut from its shell and cut into tiny pieces. This is to enable easy blending with your blender. You should wash it after peeling to remove any dirt that could be on it from breaking it.

Put the coconut pieces into your blender and add enough water to enable easy blending and large production milk. The quantity of water you need will be decided by you. When you are done blending, take it out from your blender and use your sieve to separate the blended coconut from the juice.

Squeeze out as much juice as you can from the coconut using your hand or if your sieve is the clothe type you can tie the coconut in the sieve and squeeze. Sieve the coconut juice as many times as possible to remove any particle that might still be inside (what we need is a smooth juice that does not contain particles).

After you have sieved it, you can now keep it in a bowl and let it sit for at least 12hours. I allow mine to stay over night. The next day when you come back to your coconut juice you will discover that it has solidified. For more texture you can put it in the fridge for 30minutes to 1hour.

When you take it out from the fridge you will discover that it is very solid. The top layer which is also called the cream can now be separated from the water. It is this cream that will be used to form the oil.

At this point you can use a spoon to take out the cream. Once the coconut cream has been extracted from the water, it can now be put in a cooking pot and cooked for 20 to 25minutes to get the oil.

When cooking you should use medium heat and stir regularly to avoid burning. You will cook the cream until it dissolves and the oil is formed. Once the production takes a semi crystalized color you can turn the heat off and allow to cool. When it is cool you can now sieve it and put in a storage can.

If you follow the instructions properly you will be able to make very rich homemade coconut oil for your skin. Once you have mastered this production process you will realize you won’t need to spend much money on cream.
